Boomerang from VMware Labs gets an update to 1.1.0

Today Boomerang from VMware Labs got an update;

Updates in Version 1.1.0

  • Added a search box that allows you to enter a VM name.
  • Added a “Recently Used” section for VMs that you have recently connected to or performed power operations on. The number of days that the list encompasses is configurable in the preferences dialog.
  • Added a confirmation dialog when performing power operations.
  • Added logic to automatically append DNX suffixes when entering an unqualified server name.
  • Added support for high-DPI configurations.
  • Fixed a few rare crashes.
  • Added a better error message when attempting to add a free ESXi server (license check failure).
This is a really useful application if you do not require having the vSphere client open all day. It allows you to log into multiple vCenters and access the VM’s inside. You can star most accessed VM’s and also search for VM’s to connect to direct from the interface.
When selecting a VM, Boomerang allows you to;
  • Stop
  • Pause
  • Restart
  • And remote console direct to it
Once you are remote consoled to the VM, you can attach ISO’s etc. Just as you would from the vSphere client.
